Bass Pro Shops celebrated the grand opening of its Rossford, Ohio store July 2nd. Toft’s is proud to have been selected the ice cream supplier for the national chain’s first prototypical General Store.

Michael Beebe, Bass Pro’s General Store General Sales Manager said: “While our conservation efforts are known nationally, we promise our support for each community in which we’re located. Offering Toft’s Ice Cream to our customers demonstrates that we follow through on our “buy local – be local” initiative. Toft’s is the people’s choice around here.”

Thank You PAL and Mud Hens Fans!

Each time a fan has their name appear on the scoreboard, the Mud Hens ask for a donation. As part of Toft’s partnership with the Mud Hens, each season’s total donations go to a charity of Toft’s choice. Prior to a recent home game, Toft’s Toledo Area Manager, Terry Stocker, presented a check for the 2007 season’s total fan donations to the Toledo Police Athletic League (PAL) representatives Mary Beth Stachra, Brandi Berends, Dana Taylor and twins Jamel and Jemal Townsend. PAL makes available opportunities for 9 – 12 year-olds, who otherwise might not be able, to play baseball. The group provides playing fields, uniforms, equipment and volunteer coaches requiring team play and individual responsibility in return. Operating on donations and grants, about 95¢ of each dollar PAL takes in goes to purchases.

Toft’s salutes PAL and Mud Hens Fans for making our community stronger.

Toft’s Dairy Products Are Synthetic Growth Hormone FREE!

Recombinant Bovine Somatotropin, or rbST, is a synthetic growth hormone, that when given to dairy cattle, increases milk production per cow.  The Food and Drug Administration approved as safe in 1994, the use of rbST after studies showed no significant difference between milk from rbST treated and non-rbST treated cows.  Some farmers have chosen to use rbST, while others have not, due to concerns regarding animal health and well-being.

At Toft Dairy we know that it is important to our consumers that you know where your milk comes from. That is why at Toft’s we contract with 21 local dairy farmers to supply our plant with the freshness quality milk used to make all our delicious and wholesome milk and ice cream products.  We also know that consumers want to know how that milk is produced.  Therefore, after listening to our retailers and consumers, we have received written pledges from all of our dairy farmers to refrain from using the synthetic growth hormone rbST in their production of milk shipped to our Sandusky, Ohio processing plant.

For over 100 years, Toft Dairy has provided the highest quality milk and ice cream products for you and your family. You can be assured that Toft’s will continue to deliver on our promise of ONE QUALITY milk and ice cream products, by producing dairy products free of synthetic growth hormones.
